Fair rules for individuals, businesses and buyers in Trinidad and Tobago. We are designing a marketplace in which honest listings, genuine checks and accountability matter more than paid visibility.
Pre-launch policy preview. These standards describe intended platform rules, not a functioning moderation or transaction system and not final contractual terms. Registration, reports, trades and payments are not enabled.
01 / PLATFORM RULES
What cannot be listed
ParlourTT proposes to decline listings that create unacceptable safety, fraud, privacy or legal risks. A product being legal to own does not automatically make it eligible for our marketplace.
Prohibited goods
Stolen, counterfeit or unlawfully copied goods
Firearms, ammunition, explosives and prohibited weapons
Illegal drugs and unlawful or restricted medicines
Hacked accounts, forged documents, passwords and personal data
Goods facilitating violence, fraud, exploitation or identity theft
Restricted or specialist-review categories
Vehicles: registration, ownership and condition evidence
Property: authority to advertise, accurate location and terms
Regulated services: relevant licences or qualifications where applicable
Recalled, age-restricted or safety-sensitive goods: additional assessment
Any category requiring specialist controls: kept off-platform until approved
These are proposed ParlourTT platform restrictions, not a complete statement of Trinidad and Tobago law. Final classifications and enforcement rules require local legal and operational review before launch.
02 / PRODUCT INFORMATION
A listing should help a buyer decide—not guess.
Required seller disclosures
Accurate title, category and item-specific specifications
Original photographs of the actual item and visible defects
Condition, age, faults, repairs, missing pieces and included accessories
Price or clear quote basis in Trinidad and Tobago dollars
General collection area, delivery arrangements and reasonable availability
Proof and presentation rules
Truthful ownership and authenticity claims that can be substantiated
No misleading stock, duplicate spam, keyword manipulation or fabricated reviews
No private address, ID number, credentials or sensitive documents in public photos
Business sellers should state applicable return, warranty and service terms clearly
Sponsored positioning must always be labelled and cannot buy verification
Before any real selling or trading, intended checks include verified contact details, individual identity checks, business registration and authorised representative checks where relevant. Sensitive ID evidence must go through an approved, secure process; the public site does not request it.
What a trust status will mean
Any future verification marker should communicate a specific check and review date, not guarantee honesty, product ownership or transaction safety. Expired, withdrawn or failed status must remove trading privileges. Paid plans never alter identity-review decisions.
Current position: No buyer, seller, business or exchange venue is presently approved or verified by ParlourTT.
Review decisions need clear reasons and an appeal path.
Submit for independent reviewOnce enabled, listings and accounts should enter a pending state; drafting or payment must never publish them automatically.
Check evidence and riskApply automated flags and trained human assessment for suspicious items, impersonation, prohibited goods and repeated abuse.
Explain restrictionsCommunicate approved, changes-required, suspended or rejected outcomes with understandable reasons, protecting confidential fraud methods.
Allow proportionate review and appealOffer a documented appeals route, a second reviewer for contested serious actions and auditable records. Protect sellers from malicious or fabricated reports without silencing legitimate concerns.
This is a design standard, not an active reporting, appeals or customer support queue. No concern submitted through this website currently reaches a moderator.
05 / REAL-WORLD SAFETY
No transaction is worth an unsafe meeting.
Before meeting
Question unusual urgency, identity changes and off-platform payment demands
Use staffed, well-lit public venues; no venue is currently a ParlourTT partner
Tell a trusted person your plans and avoid isolated late-night exchanges
Confirm the seller is the person you expect; never share passwords or one-time codes
Before money changes hands
Inspect and test the actual item, including serial or ownership details where relevant
Do not send deposits to unfamiliar people before inspection
If threats, coercion or impersonation appear, stop the exchange
For suspected crime or immediate danger, contact the relevant local authorities; do not rely on an inactive site reporting button
Trading stays closed until the safeguards are real.
What works now
Browse categories, prepare listing descriptions and photos privately, review buyer checklists, explore storefront design and plan safer meetings. These features are educational and local to your browser.
What must be operational before launch
Secure accounts, verified identities and businesses, enforceable listing approval, protected messaging, report queues with responsible staff, appeals, incident response, independent privacy/legal review and tested infrastructure.
